Day 1: Addis Ababa Half Day Sightseeing
Start with Entoto Maryam Church, one of the oldest Ethiopian Orthodox churches on Entoto Hills, associated with Emperor Menelik II and Empress Taytu. Continue to Entoto Hills for sweeping views of Addis Ababa from about 2,900 meters above sea level. Descend to the National Museum to see Ethiopia’s important archaeological collections, including the fossil remains of “Lucy” and Selam. Conclude with a visit to Merkato, a large open-air market where different sections specialize in local products, household goods, spices, coffee, and traditional items. After the visit, return to your hotel or preferred drop-off point.
